The Curve Grenfell Legacy Group have reached a major milestone in the next phase of The Curve Legacy Fund as we start the journey of co-creating the vision for a community-led Trust to benefit North Kensington residents and future generations
We are taking this opportunity to call on residents to join our groups and would like to see a broad representation of the community in North Kensington and would welcome new members, in particular from communities that often do not feel represented and from young people
The purpose of this group is to create a befitting legacy and ensure that it is our local community that decides on the mission, values, and functions of the Trust over the next year. The group is made of local people and was set up following the closure of the Curve. Following a consultation run by RBKC, a majority of participants decided that the £1.3M residual budget should be put in a community-led trust.
We have now reached a point where our community will be in a position to be an integral part of the process of setting up the Trust and to be the driving force behind this initiative
Members of the group would need to participate in some essential basic training, attend regular meetings and help with our engagement to ensure every voice is heard.
Members of the group are expected to be committed to act in the best interest of the North Kensington community, to act with integrity, respect and openness, to be objective, to be selfless and to promote cohesion in the community.
